Post-Abortion Healing

If you have experienced an abortion, you might feel alone and depressed. Maybe you had an abortion last week or years ago and never shared that experience with anyone.

Women’s feelings about abortion are wide-ranging. Most women immediately feel a sense of relief. But for some women, their abortion has caused them to feel guilty, shameful, or judged.

Maybe the decision to have an abortion was because of your age, you felt unprepared for parenthood, or someone coerced you. Whatever your reasons, we want you to know there is hope and healing.

Signs of Post-Abortion Trauma

Every woman experiences abortion differently. Here are some of the common symptoms women feel:

  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Guilt
  • Intense grief or sadness
  • Anger
  • Inability to forgive oneself
  • Suicidal thoughts
