If you’re wondering whether you’re pregnant, you probably have a lot of questions swirling in your head right now.

  • “Am I really pregnant?”
  • “Is my partner going to support me?”
  • “How will I finish school or work?”
  • “What are my pregnancy options?”
  • “How can I know for sure?”

This is understandable, and how you feel today may not be the same as in a day, week, or a month from now. At this moment, the idea of being pregnant is overwhelming.

Free Pregnancy Testing

Lab-quality pregnancy testing is an essential first step if you think you may be pregnant. Even if you have taken a home pregnancy test, you should confirm the results with one of our Center tests.

Although over-the-counter tests are reliable, women take them at the wrong time or don’t carefully follow directions. Our team will administer the test correctly.

How Does A Pregnancy Test Work?

When you’re pregnant, your body produces a hormone called hCG, human chorionic gonadotropin. After an egg is fertilized and implants in a woman’s uterus, hCG begins to build up rapidly in her blood and urine.

You are most likely pregnant if our pregnancy test detects hCG in your urine.

When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test?

You will get the most accurate results if you take a pregnancy test after your missed period. If your period is regularly every 28-30 days, take the test a day or two after you expected your period to start.

If your monthly cycle usually is irregular, wait 5 or 6 days to take the test. Because our tests are more sensitive than others, you can get an accurate result earlier.

What Do I Do If The Test Is Positive?

If your free pregnancy test shows a positive result, we can refer you for a free ultrasound as well.

An ultrasound is vital if you are considering abortion. Ohio’s law bans abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, usually around 5 or 6 weeks. Ultrasound identifies how far along you are in your pregnancy.
